All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will be conducting the Common Management Admission Test 2012 as one of the most prestigious entrance examinations for admission in 4000 colleges offering MBA, and 500 colleges offering postgraduate diploma in management programs. More than 4000 reputable institutions and colleges, recognized by AICTE, are anticipated to accept the admission of successful candidates qualifying in common management exams. According to the AICTE sources, approximately around 1.6 lac admission seats are available across different MBA institutions of the country, through the Common Management Admission Test. All exam notifications and admission alerts are conveniently available at the official website of AICTE CMAT.

It is anticipated that about 250,000 candidates from across the country and abroad, will be appearing for CMAT 2012. The test will be conducted from 20th February 2012 to 28th February 2012 across 61 cities in India. The candidates have the opportunity to select the exam location and date as prescribed in the exam advertisement. For the admission procedure, the candidate can select a maximum of three cities from the locations available, and it is on the basis of first-come-first-serve that the allotment of seats will be facilitated. The examination fee is Rs.1200 + bank charges for General and OBC candidates, while it is Rs.600 + bank charges for SC/ST/PD candidates. The applications can either pay online through net banking, debit or credit card, or pay in cash through the payment challan available online, and deposited in any State Bank of India branch.

Common Management Admission Test is one of the most sought after and esteemed management exams in India today. The test comprises of four sections: Quantitative techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language comprehension, and General Awareness. Each section comprises of 25 questions for marks of 100, and the total time duration is 3 hours. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. The test result and notification on issuance of score card will be available on AICTE website.
